This pivotal role involves ensuring the smooth import of food products, optimizing inventory levels, implementing robust standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse management, and directly overseeing order fulfillment and delivery processes.
We are looking for an individual with meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead and inspire a team toward operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Europe to USA Logistics Management:
? Supervise transportation, customs clearance, and documentation processes for efficient goods movement from Europe to the USA.
? Collaborate with freight forwarders, shipping carriers, and customs agents to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Food Imports:
? Work closely with international suppliers to plan and execute import activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
? Monitor import costs and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to optimize procurement processes.
Inventory Planning:
? Establish and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand and minimize carrying costs.
? Utilize inventory management systems for tracking stock levels, expiration dates, and product rotations.
SOP Development for Warehouse Management:
? Develop and implement SOPs for warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, and shipping.
? Continuously review and refine SOPs to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Warehouse Management:
? Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including organizing and maintaining the warehouse layout and ensuring a safe working environment.
? Monitor and report on warehouse performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
Order Fulfillment and Delivery Management:
? Directly manage order processing and deliveries to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders.
? Collaborate with the sales team to resolve any discrepancies and improve overall order accuracy.
Inventory Reporting:
? Generate weekly and monthly inventory reports, including stock levels, turnover rates, and analysis of slow-moving items.
? Utilize inventory data for demand forecasting and to inform procurement decisions.
Logistics Management:
? Directly manage logistics to ensure on-time delivery and pickup of shipments from vendors and producers.
Dormant Product Promotion:
? Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for promoting dormant products in the market.
? Monitor sales performance and implement marketing initiatives to boost sales of slow-moving items.
Requirements:
? Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
? Proven experience in operations management, preferably in the imports and distribution industry.
? Strong understanding of international logistics and import/export regulations.
? Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
? Excellent communication and leadership skills for effective team management.
? Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
? Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on continuous process improvement.
? Willingness to travel within Texas and the US weekly.
