Checks refrigerator/freezer for proper temperature monitoring and enters information on log.
Takes patient vitals.
Brings patients back to exam rooms.
Gathers information on meds being taken.
Secures Urinalysis and Accu-Check.
Schedules diagnostic testing to include:
mammogram, MRI and CT and diagnostic studies or testing procedures (referrals).
Completes Diagnostic Tracking logs for patients being referred out for lab and x-ray or other testing.
Reviews logs to ensure reports are returned on scheduled diagnostic testing and procedures.
Calls in refills or electronically refills scripts after pulling or reviewing charts and conferring with provider as needed.
Uses refill protocols to determine whether the prescription and can refilled without a visit or lab work Completes lab requisitions and x-ray orders.
Responsible for taking room inventory, determining what supplies and equipment is needed and procuring the appropriate supplies and instruments.
Enters clinical results and information into the EHR and/or chart.
Cleans the rooms between patients and at the end of the day to include:
- Wiping down tables and counter tops.
- Changing paper table liners.
-Discarding waste in appropriate containers (i.
e.
needles in bio-hazardous containers, non bio-hazardous waste in available trash containers.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments on a daily basis or more frequently when necessary.
Prepares the room, instruments and trays for the procedures to be performed.
Assists the physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner with patients and minor surgical procedures, pap smears (circulates with provider in exam rooms).
Administers injections and medications as ordered by practitioner.
Ensures that lab results are on the chart prior to the doctor reviewing the record.
Files or ensures that lab results are filed or scanned into the EMR system when doctor has signed off on those results.
Performs patient teaching as needed.
Returns patient telephone inquiries (call backs) and calls patents back on diagnostic testing results.
When Drug Screens are ordered, provides instructions to the patient on the proper techniques in securing specimens and may monitor the patient when requested by the employer.
Alerts the employer when patient refuses to give specimen or additional specimen when necessary.
Performs eye test for visual acuity.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
